“Butter”-Milk Biscuits
Serves: 9 Biscuits, so maybe 1 serving???
Prep Time: 10 min. Cook Time: 25 min. |
The two most important ingredients in these biscuits are butter and buttermilk... and you’ll never eat a more delicious and unique biscuit. My sister makes these and got the family hooked, but I made a few tweaks that I like, and I think makes a really good biscuit similar to Beasley’s Chicken & Honey in Raleigh, NC.

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Combine all of the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Make a well in the center and add the buttermilk and mix all of the ingredients together until a moist dough is formed.
- Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl, and then pour it into an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish (make sure that your pan is not too small or shallow so that the butter doesn't drip out of the pan while it's baking).
- Place the dough right on top of the melted butter and use a spatula to spread it until it touches the sides. And don’t be afraid if your dough is more like a batter, it’ll be okay.
- Cut the unbaked dough (the butter shall runeth over) into 9 squares for a good size biscuit.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Sulli Says: The bread flour is my trick, it gives the bottom a nice crisp texture you wouldn’t otherwise get. That’s important because I like to drizzle warm honey on a plate and place the biscuits on top and serve.
